Before we explain how Tadalafil helps manage ED, we need to explain how erections occur naturally. When you become aroused, your body releases a substance called nitric oxide (NO). In turn, levels of a chemical known as cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) increase in your body, relaxing the muscles on the sides of your penis so blood can flow into the organ and trigger a stiff erection.
While all this is happening, your body also compresses the veins that take blood away from the penis, so that the blood remains in place and you can maintain that erection. Eventually, the PDE5 enzyme in your body gets to work, and it processes the cGMP. When that happens, your erection dissipates, and the penis becomes flaccid once again.
If you have ED, regardless of the underlying cause, this natural process is somehow interrupted. That makes it more difficult for you to get or maintain an erection that’s sufficient for intercourse. And that’s where Tadalafil, a PDE5 inhibitor, can help. By blocking this enzyme in your body, you’ll have an easier time getting an erection and holding on to it until sex is complete.
How Tadalafil worksAs a PDE5 inhibitor, Tadalafil works by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis, which become more blood-rich, resulting in an erection. At the base of the penis, the PDE5 enzyme is in good news. That is, tadalafil can help provide more blood to the penis, especially during ED.
If you’re prescribed tadalafil, it's important to follow your doctor’s instructions about how to take it carefully. They may stop tadalafil suddenly, and tadalafil may start working later in the day to help provide you with an erection.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
How Tadalafil helpsTaking Tadalafil as a tablet can be beneficial for managing ED. It belongs to a class of medications known as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. These inhibitors work by relaxing the muscles in the blood vessels that supply blood to the penis, allowing blood to flow into it when you’re sexually aroused.
In turn, levels of a chemical known as cGMP increase in your body, which relaxes the blood vessels in the penis, and makes it stiff. And while all this is happening, your body compresses the PDE5 enzyme in your body, and there's finally thatED start again. That's ED with no end in view.
And that’s where tadalafil, a PDE5 inhibitor, and Tadalafil stand out as two of the most popular and effective ED medication options. Both Tadalafil and Tadalafil CR (Cialis CR) are widely used these days. However, if you’re prescribed tadalafil, it’s probably best to take your doctor’s recommendation at the outset.
Both medications have similar benefits and drawbacks. That said, there are a few key differences to consider between them. For one, both medications have the same active ingredient, Tadalafil, and they even have the same duration of action. That's why it's important to take Tadalafil as prescribed as possible while also reading through the medication reviews.
As you may know, there are different online pharmacies that sell these medications. You can visit one of those sites to get a prescription. And while you may be able to get a prescription at a local or online clinic, you still have the choice about which pharmacy to get started with.
If you do opt for the online pharmacy here, be sure to talk to your doctor about all the medications you’re taking to get a prescription. And if you do get a prescription, be sure to read the instructions carefully.

Generic form of tadalafilTadalafil is a medication that contains the active ingredient, which belongs to a class of drugs called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. This class of drugs works by helping blood vessels in the body to relax, making tissues more blood flow. In addition, it works by inhibiting the enzyme that breaks down cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP).
Tadalafilis a drug developed by the pharmaceutical company Pfizer. The drug is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. The active ingredient in this drug is known as tadalafil. Tadalafil has been a prescribed drug for more than 20 years. This is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED). Erectile dysfunction is the inability to get or maintain an erection firm enough for sexual intercourse.
The development of this drug is attributed to an increase in blood flow to the penis. This enhanced blood flow causes the muscles of the blood vessels to relax. As a result, the erection will be able to last longer and is also referred to as an erection. Tadalafil is a PDE5 inhibitor. The active ingredient of this drug is known as tadalafil.
Tadalafil is available in different dosages. Dosage is adjusted based on efficacy and tolerability. It is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment. In patients who are taking nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide) as a result of a heart condition, tadalafil should not be used during recreational drug use (i.e., among recreational students) or for any other reason. Tadalafil should be avoided in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma, severe heart failure, and/or priapism (a painful, prolonged erection).
In patients with moderate to severe liver impairment, tadalafil is not recommended. In patients who are using recreational drugs (i.e., in recreational students) and those with a history of liver or renal impairment, tadalafil is not recommended. It should be avoided in patients who have taken nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin) and/or in patients with severe hepatic impairment. In patients who are using recreational drugs (i.e., in recreational students) and those with a history of liver or renal impairment, tadalafil should be avoided in patients who have taken nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin) as a result of a heart condition, tadalafil should be avoided in patients who are using recreational drugs (i.e., in recreational students) and/or for any other reason.
If you are taking tadalafil for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, tell your doctor. Tadalafil can only be used in the treatment of erectile dysfunction and should not be used for other sexual activities. It should not be used in the treatment of premature ejaculation or erectile dysfunction. This drug has not been studied in patients who also have premature ejaculation.
In the treatment of premature ejaculation, tadalafil should not be used. It can cause premature ejaculation (PE) in patients. It is not known whether tadalafil is safe and effective in the treatment of PE. In clinical trials, no significant increase in ejaculate volume was observed in men taking tadalafil at any dose. However, men taking higher doses of tadalafil may have increased ejaculate volume and therefore, should be cautious of its use. This drug should not be used in patients with heart failure, and/or uncontrolled hypertension. Tadalafil is contraindicated in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma, severe heart failure, and/or uncontrolled hypertension.
Tell your doctor before starting tadalafil treatment, including if you have a history of heart problems, high or low blood pressure, liver problems, or severe heart failure. Tadalafil has not been studied in patients who also have heart failure, and/or uncontrolled hypertension. Do not use this drug if you have a history of heart problems, high or low blood pressure, liver problems, or severe heart failure.
If you experience any of the following symptoms, you should seek medical attention immediately.
Feeling dizzy, lightheaded, or nauseated. Sudden vision loss or an erection that doesn’t go away. Tadalafil should not be used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
Do not use tadalafil for the treatment of premature ejaculation or erectile dysfunction.
If you have any questions about tadalafil, you should consult your doctor. Your doctor will discuss tadalafil therapy with you in more detail.
This medication is not recommended for use in children.
